I took a photo of Whiskey’s litter box before I cleaned it. Because I was in a rush to get it clean and head home, I didn’t spend time studying it while I was there. I finally looked at the photo and was shocked with the amount of calcium residue she is passing.

This amount of calcium is horrific. It is on the VERY DANGEROUS level.

The pellet mix she is eating is not balanced and she needs to go onto a calcium:phosphorus balanced diet fast.

I’ve told her owner to start feeding her the Selective Science pellets and stop giving her the mix. It will take about a week for it to start clearing up.

Clearly, she has had so much calcium in her diet that her little body can’t cope with it. This is not good at all. If it stays at this level, I give her a generous 2-3 months before she starts getting solid kidney stones, if she doesn’t already have them.

I removed her rabbit mix completely, swapping it with this, and her calcium cleared up within a couple of days.
