Lunar and Maple had never felt the air pressure change so much before as the clouds started to build into a great big thunderstorm. They were scared, not knowing what was going on as the sky grew darker. The poor bunnies were outside in their pens, standing straight with their ears erect. I quickly set their indoor pens up and rushed around making sure they will be ok.
I went to pick Lunar up, but he ran away from me. I left him for a few minutes while I went to get Maple. She laid on the ground like a bean, and I picked her up then took her inside. I came back to get Lunar, he just crouched down and let me pick him up.
The bunnies decided it was my fault that the air pressure was wrong, and thunder was slowly building in the distance. They didn’t like me and thumped when I came close to them.
I went back outside and got Buttons, he was a little concerned but not as bad as the little ones. He had been through a thunder storm before, so it was old news.
Lunar and Maple refused to come near me at all. They also refused to eat their hand-full of food. Maple sniffed my hand and thumped at me. Lunar ran in all directions to get away from me. Lunar thumped a total of 8 times and Maple thumped a total of 6 times. It was clearly my fault.
Then the thunder hit. It was only a tiny clap and Lunar nearly wet himself. I went over to him and picked him up. He was thankful for the hug, he settled down instantly and stayed crouched under my chin for the duration of the 3 claps of thunder. I saved his life, he was so scared that he was shaking. The thunder-monster didn’t get him this time.
Maple ended up not caring at all. She flopped onto her side and fell asleep, sleeping through the tiny thunder storm.
I think because Lunar’s hearing is better than his sight, he can hear different noises than Maple and Buttons. He could sense the thunder long before it hit us, and he didn’t know what it was.
