I thought I had a black bunny not a red one! Nova’s hair is starting to change colour from black to red, and that means she will start moulting. It also means I have to find a suitable brush for her. Crikey!
Of course I research people’s ideas of good brushes, and nine times out of ten they are the brushes I have tried and they don’t work…
Then I happen across this message:

That is a wonderful solution, it works a treat. The only thing about it is it makes you very hairy. It’s also a good idea to have something to rinse your hands in, like a bucket or a running hose because they get very hairy extremely fast.
Then someone mentioned this place, who sell a comb with an elastic band woven in the teeth.
And of course, it’s an American shop. After a quick search I found it at the Rabbit Doctors for $45. Really? A comb? Honestly… well I could also get it for:

Seriously?
What are these people thinking?
Suddenly $45 doesn’t seem so bad.
So, I made my own by using the comb that came with the thinning scissors. I grabbed a blue elastic band the same width of the part with the teeth, and weaved it in and out every 5 teeth.
Like everything, it worked well on Buttons, but Nova’s hair was too thin for it to work properly.
This comb works on static electricity, like rubbing a balloon over your hair, and that’s when I came up with an idea…
Make a static electricity pet brush…

I then asked my rabbit-chat-group friends and they came up with these ideas:
Other replies to the message obviously didn’t read my initial post all the way through and listed all the brushes that I said didn’t work.
The upshot of the brush saga is that there isn’t a good enough brush for Nova’s hair. I still don’t know what to do.
Here’s some pic’s of Nova’s red hair…
