People make sacks for their Guinea Pigs, so I decided to make sacks for rats. It is a usual thing, people are already doing it, but hey why not join in?

So I grabbed my left over green polar fleece and pinned it together. After figuring out how I was going to do it, I realised that it’s really not that hard to make.

I put two layers of polar fleece together to make an envelope, and then stitched it together on the sewing machine.

Rat softies

I had to choose the fabric for the exterior of the sack. I didn’t have much choice, so I went with the easiest options.

I ended up making 3 little sacks.

And two larger ones.

I also ended up making a hammock out of the polar fleece. I included a little pocket in the top because rats like hiding in pockets.

Rat Softies Update

Rats eat everything. They ate holes in the softies and Patch nearly got strangled when he tried to climb through a hole and back through another hole. It’s lucky I saw him do it, so I could use scissors to cut it away from his neck. I threw out the softies.
