As I was picking up the keys for the new house, I popped into the local vet to see the cost of getting Coffee desexed. The vet nurse said that it will cost about $400. Which is affordable, but the thing that disturbed me was when she mentioned that “they will have to find someone who is comfortable to do the procedure”. How hard can it be?

Anyway, while I was there, I asked about Nova. I said that I adopted her through a Sanctuary and they said that she was desexed, but her behaviour states otherwise. She was well aware of the lies rescues tell, and it was not new to her that this might be the case.

I asked whether it’s possible to get her an ultrasound or something to check. Long story short, there’s an expensive blood test that checks hormone levels. Well, dearest Nova, your in for that, darling, and the Sanctuary will foot the bill if it comes back saying that she is not desexed.

I will have to take her to the Rabbit Doctors, the Unusual Pet Vets, or even the Bird and Exotic Vet in Williamstown. I will not take her to the Rabbit Doctors in Coburg, because they are connected to the Rabbit Sanctuary, I don’t trust that they will proved the correct information. Especially if they zap her microchip and find that she is one of their rabbits.

I dont’ trust anyone.

I will contact the Williamstown vet once I move into the new house and the bunnies have settled in to their new routine. But I am not going to stop until I uncover the truth.
