Tail Waggers
I purchased the Tail Waggers travel box so I could bring Cotton and Buttons home. The only issue with it is that the handle falls out and the box has come crashing down a couple of times when Cotton and Buttons were in it. They didn’t fall far, but that was enough for Cotton to not like going in there for a few days.
The clips on the sides are really easy to use but they break off easily. I really like the clips, they are the easiest to use.
Warning
This box is great, it would be fantastic if the handle didn’t pop off.
Paws & Claws
I also purchased the Paws & Claws travel box from the local variety store (not the place in the link) so I could take Buttons and Cotton separately to the vet for their operations. The clips on the sides pop off, and do not secure even the lightest of bunnies in it. The lid seems to twist when you want to clip the sides together. It’s pretty flimsy.
The door is hard to get on and off in a hurry because it doesn’t have the lever mechanism like the Tail Waggers one.
Warning
Do not get a box like this, it’s not worth the effort.
I got sick of the clips popping off. I was relieved when it went out in the hard waste collection.
Anko Pet Carrier
I found this Pet Carrier and it looks like it is alright quality. I purchased 2 of these carriers because I ended up chucking the Paws & Claws one.
Warning
The inside base of the box is really slippery, even if you cover it with stacks of hay or a blanket, when a bunny is in there, they slip around.
The handle seems to be held on really well. It’s quite sturdy.
The door mechanism works without a glitch. It’s easy to open and close, it is also easy to line up with the holes in the top and bottom of the box.
The screws are a little annoying, only because I open and close the box frequently. However, they are quite strong and definitely keep the sides together without warping.
Warning
The screws are easy to lose and you don’t get any spare ones. I have lost three so far and I don’t know what they are called to replace them.
After a while the inner mechanism of the door rusts making the clasps hard to use.
Lazy Pets Carrier
Initially, the Lazy Pets box seems flimsy. The plastic is weak and easily twisted.
Putting it together is annoying, because they give you an Allen key to screw in the side bolts. What if you lose/misplace it?
It is much smaller than any of the other pet boxes, not even big enough for Dwarf bunnies.
The handle is sturdy, but picking the box up with it makes the box seem flimsy. I’m glad I won’t be putting heavy animals in there (anything over 1kg in weight) because I’m sure there will be an accident.
The door is pretty good. The upright hinge mechanism connects through holes in the doorway, unlike the other boxes that have specially moulded parts. The spring loaded clip is quite good, seems to function without a hitch… so far.
