Maple giving a hug

Maple is the friendliest bunny, she greets me in the morning at the front of her bed, when I open the door she immediately climbs out and wants a cuddle. She settles in my hand with her little grey paw over my wrist and falls asleep. She grinds her teeth with enjoyment. I grind mine back at her.

She bonded with me pretty much straight away. She chose me as her person. I could tell, because she was my little shadow. She would rush up to me to always say hello and wait to be picked up for a cuddle. She would immediately relax in my hand and fall asleep. She wanted to spend time with me. I thought that was really special, because how can a tiny 7 week old animal choose a human to be her best friend. She loved me more than she loved Lunar and she loved Lunar a lot. That’s special.

Every time I pat her she lowers her head to be patted then lifts her nose up stretching her neck so that I keep patting her. She shuts her eyes when she gets pats and if I pat her long enough, she settles down and falls asleep.

When she is in her run and I talk to her, she comes up to me and stands on her two back legs, stretching as tall as she can. How can I resist not picking her up?

Lunar was a little more standoffish, although she did like cuddles and pats, she had to think about it a bit more. I think it’s because she can’t see too well and she has to smell and sense you before you pick her up. The other morning I had a break through with Lunar, she decided that she liked me enough to give her long cuddles. She snuggled in my hand and fell asleep.

Lunar and Maple Boop!

Maple learned how to boop in about an hour. No joke. I put my finger down and she presses her nose against it. Each time she did that, I said Boop. Now she does it just the same as Buttons does.

Lunar, because of her eyesight, took a bit longer. She is starting to understand what to do. In two weeks, Lunar can only boop if I take it slowly and put my finger far enough away for her to see it fist. Then she will come up to it and lightly touch it. Not a full on boop, but hey, I can’t complain.
