Lexi & Me

This Lexi and Me litter box is a good for a single bunny, or two teensy ones. It wouldn’t be big enough for a middle-size to large bunny, and definitely not big enough for Continental or Flemish Giants.
It is textured to touch, which makes cleaning a little harder, as the urine stains stick to the texture. The texture is unnecessary, as it is not hygienic. Because of this, the litter box needs to be cleaned every day.
I liked the high sides and back.
Buttons has been using one for 8 months and it’s starting to get more difficult to get the stains off. I don’t think the plastic takes well to vinegar over a long period of time.
This has been good, but it’s not worth it’s price.
Anko Litter Tray

These Anko trays are good, but a little flimsy and small. They are worth their cheap price. I know I wouldn’t feel bad throwing them away after they start to fail for their purpose.
They are made of a shiny plastic, which makes it easier to keep clean. Vinegar has not eaten away the shininess.
They are not big enough for two small bunnies, I recommend having two boxes.
Maple loves picking it up with her teeth and moving it around. It is very light, even with hay in it.
I ended up using these trays to grow grass in.
Plastic Tub

This is not the tub I purchased, but it is very similar.
I found it in the cheap shop, and thought it would be big enough for Buttons, Maple and Lunar, but now that they are using it, maybe a bigger one would be better. Luckily, they don’t use it at the same time, and it seems to be doing it’s job.
I looked for a shiny plastic tub, that had sides about 10cm high. That way it’s easy to clean and it can have a good amount of hay in it.
Paws & Claws

This is the best litter box. I thought it was going to be too big – which it would be for baby bunnies – but it turns out that its the perfect size.
I got this litter box from here. I actually bought two, because an extra one will never go to waste.
I have written about this box in the Shopping article.
This is the only litter box worth having.
It is 61 (long) x 45 (wide) x 25 (high)
Calculating litter box size
To work out how much room your bunny needs in a litter box, on average, is calculated like this:
- Measure the width of your bunny at it’s hips. The widest part.
- Add 20cm.
If you have more than one bunny, the math works out the same.
In the picture below we have Maple, with 15cm hips, and buttons with 20cm hips.
15 + 20 = 35 (Maple needs 35cm)
Now because Buttons will be sharing the box, we add 10cm, not 20cm.
20 + 10 = 30 (Buttons needs 30cm, if sharing with Maple)
So a litter box for both of them would be (the box can be larger but not smaller):
35 + 30 = 65cm

To measure the length of the litter box, measure the length of your longest bunny and add 10cm.
Buttons is 40cm long in a loaf position.
40 + 10 = 50
So the litter box should be a minimum size of:
65 (long) X 50 (wide)
If you can’t find a box that size, you can always have multiple smaller boxes.
The Paws & Claws litter box is nearly that size (61 (long) x 45 (wide) x 25 (high)), so go for that one.
