I was looking for interesting decor for the new house and spent a long time searching the internet for furniture, coffee tables, rugs… basically anything that would make a hardwood floor make less echo. I created a spreadsheet of ideas that listed the decor, price, shop, an image of the product and URL.

I found that some furniture shops like this one and this one have a section of their website that allows you to see the name of all of their products in a particular design.

This one in particular had some really lovely interior designs and I happily stole some of them.

I found that I liked this design, with it’s simple cream sofa and autumn colours. Of course, some of the furniture was out of stock or style and didn’t exist on their website any more, but that was alright.

One thing I did find though, that long black cushion with cream tassels on the couch is not sold at this store. It is an expensive cushion sold elsewhere. I learned really quickly that everything in these photos are not available in the single store.

I carefully went through each item, listing the details. That way I could figure out whether I liked the furniture or I needed to find something similar.

The thing with this particular store is their furniture, especially sofas can be quite hard and uncomfortable. I may have to get the sofa from another store.

Rabbit lamp

Well, on my journey of looking for interesting living room decor I found this

I had to get one. I ordered it straight away. Then it was the waiting game for about a week until it was delivered.

I didn’t realise how excited I was about getting this lamp until I received the notification that the delivery was actually happening.

The truck pulled into the driveway, the man pulled out a box and handed it to me.

I looked at the box and thought:

“Maybe they packaged it into another box for some reason.”

Nope. They sent me the wrong item.

My heart sank. I wanted my bunny lamp.

I took photos of the table lamps knowing that I’d have to send them to the company.

Wrong lamp
Email

I emailed them as soon as I received the wrong item on the 18th. Ten days later they responded with a not so helpful email.

I emailed them a week later and didn’t hear anything back.

I had heard that Fantastic Furniture was useless with delivering the correct items, and even more useless with replacing them. So the waiting game begins.

It’s not hard to send the correct item, and it’s less difficult to replace it. Get a move on Fantastic Furniture.

Throughout my searching online I came across this White Moose Golden Bunny. Lots of stores sold it for an expensive price (anywhere between $40-$90), but Beacon Lighting had it for $35. I thought that was a bargain.

A message from Coffee who just hopped over my keyboard:

I went into the store and fund the rabbit on a black glass circular table and took it to the counter. The lady looked it up on the computer and said that she had one in the back and went to go and get it.

On her return, she said that a lot of people pat the rabbit and it has withstood many dirty, grimy hands upon it’s body. She was happy to tell me that it must be good quality because it has been in store for a couple of years and it still looks new. I was impressed to find that out, only because gold painted porcelain usually tarnishes or chips when a lot of attention is placed upon it.

I took the rabbit home. Happy to finally have something rabbity in my new house.

I placed it on the TV cabinet, only to gaze adoringly upon it’s golden rabbity body. I wasn’t intending to keep it there, but it was worshipped every minute of the day while it was.

A few days later I moved it to a cupboard shelf in the entry. It looked cute there, sitting next to the pink and gold fish statue.

Right near the cupboard the rabbit was sitting on is a build-in hallway cupboard where we have all the animal food, bowls and blankets. We call it the Pet Cupboard.

I was fixing the kitty litter tray one afternoon and turned around.

CRASH!

The bunny hit the floor.

I cried.

My precious golden bunny shattered into a bajillion pieces.

I am having zero luck with rabbit decor.
