Summer. I hate summer. So do bunnies. I try to put the bunnies out early in the morning when it is going to be a hot day, just to beat the heat. They have exercise for a couple of hours before it gets hot, then I bring them inside where it’s cooler.

They get a double layer of shade cloth put over them. It’s dark under there, but it keeps the sun off. I make sure the sides are up as much as I can, except for where the sun will beat in – on the north-east (morning) and west (afternoon).

It gets really hot in there because the air can’t escape through the holes in the shade cloth. I make sure to leave corners folded back so the hot air can escape.

The little ones are still in separate pens. They both get covered with the same piece of shade cloth, unless they stay inside.
