I finally got to meet Bun-bun! We had decided that Whiskey was a good name for her due to her colours.
It was about 9 at night when I finally got to say hello to her.
She stared at me from behind her blue igloo.
She was much smaller than I thought she would be, even smaller than Chester who was the same age when I rescued him. She was about the same size as Nova, who is a dwarf.
One thing I was impressed with was her poops, they were gold and large. Even though she has been eating a Guinea Pig/Rabbit mix, it didn’t look like it was hurting her.
Whiskey is definitely a girl!
Days before, she had already found a comfy place on the couch arm rest. It has become her favourite place and she would stay there all day if she could.
The nights were cold, so I set her pen up in the lounge room near the heater. That way she would stay warm all night. She loved being in the lounge room, and she finally relaxed enough to lay down rather than sitting in a loaf.
She followed me around during the day, having fun in the hallway.
Her previous owner said that she tried litter training Whiskey, but she took it away because she would sleep in it. As soon as I gave Whiskey the litter box she knew how to use it. Her behaviour also changed, she was proud to have a litter box and showed off to us while she used it.
Whiskey spent a few hours outside each day, if it was nice weather.
Whiskey’s colours
Whiskey’s eyes are amazing. Her left one is blue, while her right is half blue and half orangey-brown. Blue eyes are created by the Vienna gene, which also gives her the white markings on her face, legs and body.
She has the otter speckling, which is the lighter hairs that fade the darker chocolate on her body to the tan colour on her chest and tummy. It also gives her the light colour around her eyes, jaw and under her tail.
She has pink skin under the orange coloured hair. The hair itself is agouti, with a darker base.
The brown hair on her head has a pale brown base, with brown skin.
Her body has white skin and her hair is agouti with a white base, slate grey mid-band and chocolate tips.
