Bella came out of her shell. She loved cuddles, playing with her toys and catching up on sleep. She was so tired that her little head would bow and her big eyes would blink slowly. She refused to sleep.

Once she got used to the noises of the house, and sleeping near the aquarium with its continuous filter and bubbler going, she was lulled to sleep. She slept on and off all Monday, then on Tuesday she was ready to play. Non stop pouncing at fluffy things tied to sticks.

On the first night, one of the main noises that made Bella question her existence was Coffee running around and binkying in her pen next door. I lifted the blanket that was between them, and the kitten met the kitten.

They stared at each other for about 30 seconds, then they started to play with each other. Coffee ran around and came to a complete stop, looking at Bella. Bella would meow and do a turn, then start at Coffee. They were having fun playing with each other.

This helped Bella settle down faster, knowing that she wasn’t alone and she had animal friends. It also made Coffee happy, she also suddenly had a little friend.

By Tuesday night both kittens were happy to live next to each other. Coffee flopped onto her side with her legs up in the air, and Bella curled into a tiny silver ball in her basket.

Bella was so tired. She forced herself to stay awake, and her head would nod, getting heavy, but she would snap herself out of it. Once she became comfortable with the house’s sounds and her new lifestyle, she allowed herself to sleep… for three days straight.

She isn’t sure about cuddles. Even though she is a friendly kitty, she doesn’t know much and is learning a lot. We purposefully don’t overload her senses.

She enjoys playing games with her stringy toys, especially the green fish with the feathery yellow tail.
