Maple resting

Maple and Lunar snuggling in the carry box

On the day I left my sisters, I put a lot of grass and hay in Maple and Lunar’s travel box. They were comfortable and happy until they realised we were in the car.

They stayed crunched in the back of their box the whole way – even though I sang to them all the way (I’m not a good singer, I’m more like an off-key mutterer). Maybe that’s the reason why they crunched in the back of the box? Hmm… there’s a thought. Poor bunnies.

The trip was about 2 hours, the longest they have ever been on a single car trip. I stopped about three times to check them. They weren’t enjoying the journey, but they were very happy to see me each time.

Maple was always ready to climb out of the box and get a hug, but of course I had to be mean and close the door on his face.

They stayed very quiet and still for the entire journey. Rocking around on their pink cushion.

I gave them pellets and water when we arrived, but they were still unhappy. They did nibble the pellets and grass after a little while.

They felt more comfortable in their familiar cage with their pink cushion. They settled in for the night.

Tomorrow is another day.
