Buttons enjoying the wood fire

It has been the coldest Easter long weekend for 80 years, and even though the temperature is 15°C, it feels like 8°C. There is no way I’m putting my bunnies outside. It has been blowing frozen winds for three days so far, where the wind speed is getting up to 60-70km/h. Even though it is supposed to be Autumn, it has clearly been skipped and is now the middle of winter.

I took Lunar outside for a walk in my arms, just to change the scenery, and within 5 minutes he was shivering. At least he got a little bit of fresh air. I was considering putting them outside for a little while so they can stretch their legs, but I think it would be a waste of time.

Lately we have been putting the wood fire on at night because it has been so cold. We were worried about the bunnies being close to the fire. They are about 2-2.5 metres away from it, but they lay as close as they can to it at night time when it is on. If they didn’t like it they would choose to be further away.

When the fire goes out over night, the bunnies still think it’s on because the night-light (to the left of the heater) glows orange and they think that it is giving off heat.
