Saturday April 1st, into Sunday April 2nd, was the first full 24 hours that the bunnies had together. Buttons had a sleep over with the Little Ones.
I put Buttons in the Little One’s pen at about 8am, they stayed inside until about midday, due to the weather. I then put them outside at about 12-ish. I brought them inside at 4pm, and they haven’t been apart.
Buttons chased the Little Ones around a lot over night, they didn’t get much sleep. Maple was so tired during the day of the 2nd April, that she fell asleep in the middle of the outside pen, in the sun. When I picked her up she was still asleep and really warm. I cuddled her a little and put her in the shade.
I put them all together in the indoor pen again that night. Lunar is starting to not be as scared of Buttons, even though he still jumps away. I gave them their greens and they all ate at the same time, next to each other. It was the first glimpse of a bunny family. It was super cute.
I decided to put a heap of play things in the pen for the night so there were lots of resources. I figured that Buttons may have been chasing the Little Ones around last night because there was only one pipe that they had to share… and Buttons is not good at sharing yet.
Back to Lunar
Each bunny was given a manicure, pedicure and brush. Maple likes being brushed, but she isn’t moulting. She doesn’t really like her nails being clipped, but she put up with it by burying her head in my neck.

Buttons… oh Buttons. First, he got his nails clipped. He was a good boy. His nails are so much bigger than Lunar and Maple, and more satisfying to clip. He was a struggle to clip his nails in the past, I think because he didn’t like the clippers I was using. I changed them to a new guillotine pair and he didn’t struggle at all. Afterwards, he settled on my lap as I brushed him with the de-shedding glove. I got 6 glove-fulls of hair out of him, and then I went over his coat with the Furminator. He is silky smooth now.
