It was finally May 16th, and Buttons’ turned 2 years old. Like every year so far (all one of them) I set up the Birthday sign and try to take a photo of the bunnies in front of it to celebrate. And, as the saying goes:

❝ Never work with animals or children ❞

Last year I made a purple triangular hat with gold circles, this year I thought I’d try something different.

Hat cups

I found these catering mini bowls, and as they were the perfect size for a hat, I purchased them.

Buttons wearing at hat cup

I tested the bowl on Buttons’ head. It fitted perfectly.

Nova wearing a hat cup

Nova got a hat too.

Crocheting a hat

I decided to crochet a cover for the hats.

Birthday hats are complete

These are the completed hats.

I then made a couple more to test other concepts.

Now for the celebration

Buttons' Birthday sign

The birthday sign.

Nova sniffing the hats

I set it up in their pen and sat down near it waiting for curiosity to kick in. Nova was the first to sniff the hats.

Of course, Buttons came over to have a look too.

Buttons looking at the birthday sign

Buttons had a good look at the sign.

He then noticed that the pink blanket was clipped to the top of the fence.

Buttons in his hat

Finally, I got a really bad shot of Buttons in his hat near the sign.

Nova in her hat

Nova was a little easier to take a photo of.

Buttons' birthday photo

And again, a Birthday shot very similar to last year’s one.

Happy Birthday Buttons!
