How it all started

In August 2022, Dr. Sonia purchased a male and female sibling pair of rabbits from a backyard breeder in Narre Warren, Victoria, Australia. She didn’t realise how much this decision would change her life.

Buttons, the male rabbit had severe digestion issues and this sparked the adventure to find out everything she possibly could about rabbits, their care, health and nutrition. Dr. Sonia wanted to give Buttons the best life possible.

Buttons’ World started out as a blog-style account of the adventures that Buttons got up to, then expanded into writing reviews of the products Dr. Sonia purchased, then a study on the best foods to give him the best diet for his “poor bunny-tummy”.

Within a year, Buttons’ World grew into a platform to collate the latest articles about Lagomorphs (rabbits, hares and pikas) with articles written and reviewed by professional collaborators, it is shaping up to be an authority in accurate Lagomorph information.

Where it is going

Due to her background in game design and teaching, Dr. Sonia wants Buttons’ World articles to be educational, informative, entertaining and accurate so they can be understood by everyone.

When information is presented in a fun way, people cannot misconstrue it into something it is not. Dr. Sonia believes that it is important to provide the most accurate articles because the world is filled with invalid and unsuitable information giving rabbit owners incorrect and sometimes fictitious knowledge.
