After a 3.5 hour bus trip and another 1.5 hour train trip, I arrived at my destination… I was going on a short holiday on the other side of the state… Western Victoria. Actually, it wasn’t far from where I lived a few years ago when I was a teacher, so the whole area was familiar.
Because petrol for the car is now $2.25 a litre, I refuse to drive anywhere. It’s just to expensive. On the flip side, of course, if I did drive, it would have only taken me 3 hours, instead of the 5 hours. I was happy to sit back and let someone else worry about road works, traffic and driving through Melbourne.
As soon as I arrived I was greeted by Coco the cat. He is a 6 month old stray who found a loving home when he was just a kitten. He is the fluffiest, most cheerful cat I’ve ever met.
Then there’s Marley, an 11 year old black lab. I didn’t take a better photo of her because she jumped all over me when I tried.
Even though she is going blind, she was very happy to meet me. And for my short stay, she stood at the back door wagging her tail loving the attention.
Then there were the fish. Endler’s Guppies. The male ones are really colourful, and the female ones are a browny-grey. I tried to take clear photos of them, but due to their teensy size and their fast movements, the camera couldn’t keep up. Here’s the best shots I could take.
Once I arrived home, the rabbits were happy to see me, but they didn’t like the dog and cat smell on me. They hopped away and shook their heads like I revolted them. After I had a shower, I smelled normal again, and they were happy for me to pat them.
